Skilled songwriter, performer and musician in need of mentor

About You:

Although I've got a renaissance of abilities and interests, my driving passion in life is songwriting and performing, not to mention the recording process in the studio... making those songs come to life.

Admittedly, though, I feel stuck in a rut and need the assistance of others to help me find the right direction to take to get out of my dead end job (or at least find a work-around to it) and develop and launch into a music career. I'm very passionate about music and refined in my ear and in my tastes. I have been playing guitar and piano for over twelve years and have performed off and on for almost as long.

Looking for:

While I don't necessarily expect a mentor on the scale of jazz legends or rock's finest, I'd like a knowledgable and skilled musician/songwriter with proven experience in the music industry and has been able to sustain a living in it.

It would be nice to have a mentor who might be able to help me:

• think outside of the box in terms of my music career
• help me to get beyond this current "funk" I'm in
• and to help me connect up with others in the music business that could help me and likewise, that I could help as well.

I've done the coffee house scene for a few years and didn't really care for it. The bar scene doesn't really appeal to me either. I really could use some help looking for other great alternatives and get a new jump-start to my music career.
