Introductory Phrase:
I am a Registered Nurse and have been working as an Infection Control Practitioner for the past 11 years in public hospitals. I have been looking to start a business for a many years and I think I have come up with a great idea.
About You:
I grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta and currently live in Vancouver, B.C. I have a bachelor degree in biology and nursing. I taught English in South Korea for a year. I had my own small business in Alberta doing environmental consulting for Oil and Gas companies.
Looking for:
My plan is to take my experience and practice and inject it into the heart of the business world, the common office space. My target is large national and multinational corporations. I have received good feedback based on my initial business concept and have developed a sales pitch and outlined my services and product that I could provide. Current infection control practice by businesses is to provide minimal sick days and hand rub. Much of Workplace Wellness is focused on chronic disease prevention and mitigation. The two most popular metrics of Wellness from a corporation stance are absenteeism and presenteeism. I’m focusing on preventing acute communicable diseases that I believe significantly contribute to both of these metrics. Infections can be short in duration but can markedly contribute to permanent deterioration in function and quality of life. I need good honest feedback from someone that has worked in high level management or higher in large national and/or multinational corporations on likely interest by prospective customers for my Acute Communicable Disease Prevention program and services. I want better insight into the needs of large corporations regarding staff health and interest in facilitating improvement. I have developed a sales pitch that I think highlights the concerns and needs of businesses and outlined program and services I can provide. Once I better understand the needs and interests I will then start producing my salable product and services.
