Hello! My name is Alison. I am 25 years old and live in the wonderful city of Philadelphia, PA. I have done well in life considering some of the obstacles and I am proud of my accomplishments but dissatisfied with my current life path and unsure of where to go, what to do, and how to focus my energy in the right direction. I would like to excel in my career but am unsure of which direction. I would like to return to school but unsure if it is the right way to go and whether it will be worth it. I would like to be more giving, do more for my community and the broader community of people in need, and be a champion for someone who needs one!

Looking for:

I am looking for someone who can relate to my background (lower middle class, child of mentally ill/disabled parents) and understand to an extent my real and perceived obstacles. Someone who has triumphed in spite of hardship, who was not born into a network of successful adults but has paved their own way. Someone who might have an alternative approach to life's challenges, who is optimistic but realistic, rooted on the ground but open to possibility. Someone who is successful in a field related to helping others - social work, counseling, psychology, community outreach, etc. Someone who maybe sees or hears some of their former selves in me. : ) LGBTQ friendly is a big plus, as well as a wide open mind and acceptance of others regardless of sex, race, class, ethnicity, economic status, etc.
