About You:

I'm of an age (in my 60's) where I have time to spend as I wish. One thing I enjoy doing is passing along things I've learned. These include specific skills, anything to do with computers of course, but also math (up to calculus), English (grammar and writing), some of the hard sciences, and philosophy (in the Aristotelian tradition). Also, I have managed to learn a few things about life while getting to this age. Some of them might even be useful! I spent a few years, on and off, helping people deal with psychological and personal issues--but I am NOT a therapist, just a good listener who sometimes has good advice.

Looking for:

I'm looking for someone who is college age or younger who wants to better themselves. This can be a formal arrangement, tutoring for pay, or some sort of mentoring. If I am to tutor, I'll expect to be paid, but since I'm not financing a boat or anything, I will negotiate the rate based on what you can afford. As a mentor, I could be anything from a strict parental figure to just someone to call up when my mentee wants to talk. I don't particularly care about the sex or race of the person I'm tutoring or mentoring, as that is irrelevant to whether I can make a difference in his or her life.
