About You:
I lost my mother a little over a year ago. I was 27 when she was diagnosed and 29 when she lost the fight. It's still a process but I have come a long way in dealing with the loss emotionally since then. Further than I ever thought I'd be able to.
Looking for:
I would like to give back through comfort and support. If someone recently lost a parent and needs someone safe to talk to about it - I can be that person. Everyone grieves in their own way. Our ways might not be the same but I know it can be helpful to relate to someone that understands more than others. It can also be comforting to know the process of grieving unfolded for someone further down the line of grieving is going. Advice on what helped but also letting you vent about what hurts and what you're probably sick of people saying to you. Basically, in a situation like this, I feel the best thing anyone can offer is compassion and understanding.
