A Diamond in the Rough
About You:
I am a graduate of U.C.Davis, where I received a B.A. in Sociology. Currently, I am a homemaker seeking to become a mobile notary and a loan agent. I am an avid reader and am continuously seeking higher levels of learning and spirituality. I am a single parent of four children, ages 22, 16, 6 and 7. The three youngest children are all boys. I am a member of the Solano County Mental Health Board and have been asked to chair our Cultural Competence Committee. I enjoy advocating for others and consider myself a practicing attorney, only I am not a member of the Bar. At this point in my life, I feel as if I am lacking balance. I have found a Thai Chi class and I am hoping it will help me to get obtain balance. In addition, I am studying Dr. Scott Peck's, "The Road Less Traveled," and I am getting ready to embark on a study of Semiotics. I'm not sure why I am going to study Semiotics, but I am not sure why I study a lot of other things, as well. I seem to stumble upon one book to the next and each book relates to my life or my thought patterns at each given moment that I discover them. In closing, my dear friend Sean, best described me as "a diamond in the rough." He said it was because I was not quite a diamond yet, but I am multifaceted and have the potential to become one. So, that is ultimately what I am working on becoming.
