Introductory Phrase:
How can I identify the best next business opportunity for me?
About You:
I've been a small business owner for 12 years. My business is in designing and sourcing products for customers in the US and Canada. I have experience in digital marketing, direct marketing, graphic design, web design, copywriting, small business management, project management, managerial accounting and finance, small business information systems (including some coding) and all the little things that go into running a small online operation. I have several great customers who have stayed with me through the years and I get new customers almost every day through my digital marketing and direct mail efforts. When I started my business, I wanted a business that I could do in a few hours a day and then spend the rest of my time studying, raising small children, and composing music on my guitar. My needs have changed. Honestly, I'm bored with the day-to-day grind of this business and I want to do something more challenging and, well, lucrative. My sales and revenue are not growing due to multiple factors, including a waning interest in managing the business. I have been at it a long time and I want to do something else now. I recently spent quite a bit of time earning an MBA. While this prepared me to take on much larger endeavors, it did not help me figure out what my next endeavor will be. I've also looked for jobs (instead of starting a new venture), but I've struck out in my search.
Looking for:
I'm looking for a person or people who have started or are starting multiple businesses. Did you start small? How do you identify new opportunities. Alternately, I'm interested in speaking with people who made the switch from small business owner to a management role in corporate america or someone else's small business.
