THE NEXT STEP IS TO CREATE A GROUP SO YOU CAN INVITE A MENTOR TO JOIN AND MENTOR YOU. OR, IF YOU'RE A MENTOR, SO YOU CAN INVITE A MENTEE TO JOIN AND BE MENTORED BY YOU.
Read below for more information on groups, and masterminding with your mentor or mentee
You must create a mastermind group now so you can search for a mentor or mentee in the
category that you want mentorship in, or that want to mentor someone in. What is a
mastermind? See below for definition.
Your group can be Public, Private, or Hidden, so if you’re not ready to let others see your FAM
group, you can select hidden.
Once your group is created, you can search the database and ask potential mentors,
mastermind partners, or mentees to join. When another member joins your group, you can
connect and start the mentor-mentee or masterminding relationship.
- Private groups - Only those who are invited and given access can see the chat and discussions in the group. Other members can see the group but must ask to join or be invited.
- Public Groups – Anyone can see the contents of the chat and discussions.
- Hidden groups - Other members cannot see the group or ask to join. You can still search the database and ask other members to join. Once they join, they have full access to the group.
Mastermind: When 2 or more people come together to achieve a common objective a
mastermind is created.
Napoleon Hill coined the term masterminding, and he says: “when two or more minds come
together, a third, invisible intangible force, likened to a third mind, is created.”
Mentoring is masterminding. The mentor and mentee are focused on helping the mentee grow in knowledge and gain more/better skills, so the mentee can be better in their chosen field — work related or life related.
Another masterminding option at FAM, is to have one or two mentors mentoring a group of mentees. Because of a shortage of mentors, this option can be very efficient.
Masterminding can also be a group of mentees currently all working in the same field and wanting to be better in their field of interest or work. Simply meet at least once a week as a group and share each other’s wins, challenges and inquiries. Have a regular scheduled discussion and follow an open round table sharing format agenda.
FAM allows you to create a mastermind group of any type, that works for you and your growth style. Good luck with your search
