About You:

I currently have an undergraduate and graduate degree in Social Work. I want to pursue a Ph. D. in Sociology and continue my education as far as I can. I come from an impoverished Latino community in Omaha, Nebraska and I am afraid that my perceived limitations will hinder my ability to achieve my true potential. I was the first person on my father's side of the family to ever obtain a college degree. I struggled throughout my academic career but I do not wish for the mistakes of youth to follow me into my professional career. I am 29 years old, but I feel that I am already behind the game. I currently work as a school social worker and have served as an adjunct professor at two colleges in Omaha. Feeling lost and could use some assistance and direction.
