Introductory Phrase:
I am looking to make an informed career change
About You:
I graduated in 2010 from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and psychology fascinated me, so I went in that direction. However, I didn't want to be a psychologist, so I figured I'd try I/O Psych by way of HR/Talent Acquisition. Simply put, this career field is not the best use of my talents nor does it "fulfill" me. I love to analyze and engage in critical thinking/problem solving. I am good with numbers and enjoy organizing information using mathematical principles. I want my new career to be something that I am both good at and fascinated by. Generally speaking, my interests are as follows: Finance (especially Investing), Economics, Technology, Cyber Security, Big Data Analysis, Military/Intelligence Agencies, History, Science (mainly brain function and quantum physics), Entrepreneurship, Sports. I say this with humility: when I decide what I want on a career, I plan on being the very best in that field.
Looking for:
Someone who can offer advice on potential career paths and/or is a good judge of talent. It is difficult for me to choose a career when I have not seen the day-to-day responsibilities that a particular job would entail. Essentially, I would like to speak with someone who knows the "ins-and-outs" of some of the fields I mentioned so I can get a better idea as to whether it is something I would succeed at and enjoy.
