Breaking into marketing and project management has been tough...

About You:

I have many years in retail sales and account management and only recently was able to break into the marketing industry in a project manager role. The company is small and has since dismissed me, stating that I was not a good fit within their organization. It has left me a little bit dismayed as I am sure that project management, account management and marketing are areas that I am deeply interested in. I have since realized that project management can be utilized in various other industries, which interests me greatly. I have a deep love of learning and wanting to grow. I have always found it difficult to find the necessary information and knowledge for the path that I want to take. I see myself in a position leading teams of people all focused on a goal, I am just not sure how to get to that point.

Looking for:

I need guidance on what sorts of things I can do to improve myself, my skills, my abilities, my interpersonal skills, my leadership skills. I want to make sure that I am not coming off "wrong" to people. It's been awhile since I've been in school and after a couple of years of being unemployed/having jobs that weren't in line with my career goals, I feel like I may have fallen off track with my interpersonal skills due to lack of exposure and feedback. I need guidance to make sure I'm heading in the right direction.
