Introductory Phrase:
I feel trapped in my career and could use some guidance please
About You:
I've been working in IT as a support specialist / systems administrator for ~15 years and my career is moving backwards. I'm not happy with the future outlook for my position or my current skill set as they become outdated. I've been too comfortable and I haven't met my potential. I need a more secure career path with better earning potential but I'm in my mid-forties and have financial commitments. I can learn new IT skills like cloud and security and stay in IT where at least I'll probably make enough money but I don't know if this is really what I want. Yet when I try to think of what I'd do if I could do anything at all I come up nearly blank, nothing realistic anyways. So I feel trapped in IT for financial reasons (and lack of options) and just feeling lost... I'm demoralized.
Looking for:
Someone who can help me figure out what my options are, if any, and go from there. Maybe help me build the good habits and discipline to succeed once I have the prize in mind.
