38 years old and at a turning point in my life

About You:

I have abused alcohol and drugs for the last 15 years. I am about to be free from legal issues caused by my alcohol abuse. For the first time in my life I am not depressed and am very hopeful about my future. I am also a student and am pursing a degree in Social Work. I believe that my life experience combined with education will allow me to help others who are going through similar scenarios. I recognize that the next few months are very crucial to me moving forward in life. Therefore I find it necessary to find a mentor to share my ideas with.

Looking for:

I am looking for a mentor that believes in pragmatic ways of thinking and doesn't necessarily see alcohol and drug abuse as an incurable disease. Although I struggle with substance abuse, I am confident that through discussion and guidance I can adjust my point of view and become successful at extinguishing detrimental activities.
