Introductory Phrase:
Always an interview, never the new hire.
About You:
I am 30 something with two bachelor's degrees and have worked in the same job for the past 5 years for which I am over qualified and grossly underpaid. I work at a small liberal arts university as an office coordinator. After moving to the area, I applied to a number of positions directly when I saw openings posted, but had no luck getting even an interview until I was placed in my current position through a staffing agency. I accepted the invitation to stay on permanently thinking it was finally a foot in the door. I hoped that after a year, maybe two, I would be able to move into a position with a better title and compensation. Despite dozens of interviews both on campus and elsewhere, I seem to be stuck. I feel confident in my resume since I am getting interviews, and get positive remarks when I have had opportunities to ask for feedback. Something just seems to be missing in my interviews. I'm struggling to understand what my 20-something, inexperienced self had that my 30 something experienced self has lost.
Looking for:
Someone who can help me find my confidence again after so many rejections. Someone who can provide guidance for my career and possibly help me make connections in the community at large. I have struggled to feel at home here since moving to the area. If its possible I consider myself a social introvert. I like being around people, but I have difficulty knowing what to say around people I don't know.
