Introductory Phrase:
Passion for philosophy and knowledge, but no where to go.
About You:
As the title describes it, I discovered not too long ago that I have a passion for philosophy, and a craving for knowledge and wisdom. I can't explain how excited I get when I hear of new philosophical ideas or how amazed I feel lately at the world around me and I just want more than anything to learn more and move forward with this. The feelings I have about all of this are so strong it makes me think I really need to pursue it farther and maybe I can go somewhere with all of this... though I'm not sure where. Here is the problem though. despite my love of this subject, I lack any real education... my education came to a halt after elementary school , I never had a real high school , or even jr. high education, let alone college level... Although I love to read, and will try to get my hands on any philosophy book I can, and even listen to all the audio courses I can, I lack the skills I need to put this to use, or even the knowledge of how I could put it all to use. So I'm at a point where I've got all this enthusiasm for something, but im at a standstill.
Looking for:
I admit I don't know how this works, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for here... But I ended up coming here because I'm just really trying to find some sort of guidance or advice on what I can do at this point. I would like to find out what my options are, whether realistically I could make something out of this, or if I'm getting in over my head. Or if I am able to pursue such a thing, just how on earth someone with an elementary level education can take on something as complex as philosophy, and what steps to take....
