Looking for a Sales leader with specific experience in rapid growth in emerging markets
About You:
I'm an open minded and collaborative listener. I ask questions to gain common ground and learn about everything you have to tell me. I took the long meandering road to where I am today and I was extremely lucky to have my first company guide my growth for 20 years. I started as a clean up crew member in high school at the heavy duty diesel engine company that other family members have worked at. Part way through high school the company I worked for got wind that I had some drafting skills through high school so I was placed in the technical sales/engineering office helping the 2 member team. My interest in electrical engineering from that office motivated me into enrolling in the electrical engineering program at the local technical college. Part way through my education the company offered to pay for my education provided I came to work for them in the sales team after school concluded. I found my stride at the very challenging engineering school and was able to graduate at the top of my class and received an award for my studies. This paralleled my early high school success that faltered a bit in late high school because of my quest to gain more social acceptance from my peer group. My career progressed as did my success in my role. I leveraged my naïve braggadocio at the age of 21 and formed some enduring relationships with local professional engineers and contractors to the point that I was enrolled by my company in business school to widen my tunnel vision which culminated in a diploma in sales and business management. The success continued and I was then placed as the sales manager of the power generation division and one of my reports was my previous boss. Around the same time the company sponsored my completion of my MBA. After completing my MBA and graduating to Vice President of Sales I started to consider an industry change after working 20 years in heavy duty diesel power. I made the difficult decision to change companies from the only company I have ever worked at that had been very fruitful to a company 1/3 the size which was in the innovation, design and manufacture of agricultural machinery in the hemp/cannabis industry. The transition has been extremely exciting and ended up being the right decision because all of the unique new challenges. The rapid continued growth in the industry around the globe is thoroughly engaging and immersing which creates unique challenges regularly. I\'m an extremely hard working family person that holds my integrity and inquisitive nature as my foremost values. I appreciate the team that I work with because without them there is no business.
Looking for:
I'm looking for someone who has experienced some significant growth in sales in an emerging market. I want someone that I can ask questions and create a dynamic dialogue around guiding a team and building strategies where there\'s not a lot of historical data or quantifiable forecasts specific to the product. I\'m willing to commit the time to fully immerse myself in the process, whichever path this takes. My goal is to constantly improve and working with mentors is a great way to leverage the experiences of others to shape the best path forward.
