FindAMentor.com is a free self-serve web matching service for adult mentors and mentee’s, promoting continuing education utilizing the natural human process of mentoring.
If you are a mentor, please join and share your knowledge and experience with someone who needs it. It’s a method of tithing or a way to give back. We are looking for one million mentors. Pay it forward. Just do it!
When you join, you can search the database and find a mentor or mentee to communicate with. You’ll find a new friend with a passion in common. Make it fun and interesting and you’ll both learn. Some knowledge cannot be gained in a classroom. Mentoring is a natural and healthy real life experience where both emotions and intellect get shared. Emotional process is very important in achievement of any goal and the 2nd half of the success equation. (Positive emotional process + positive thought = Success.) Success processes are best learned in a mentoring or experiential environment and takes discipline. Successfully dealing with continually changing processes, which happen in real life work and living environments, is difficult to learn in a classroom.
Mentors can help others avoid costly mistakes and invoke whole-life intellect and emotional success processes. Be a mentor in what you’re good at and passionate about.
People are mentors and mentees throughout life. A six year older cousin might mentor a three year old. A 60 year old might mentor a 40 year old. I witnessed a relationship where a 25 year old singer mentored a 60 year old guitar player on singing, and the guitar player mentored the younger singer on guitar. We have forms to help you verify the authenticity of the person you are connecting with, whether they are a mentor or mentee. Have them fill out either the mentor or mentee questionnaire. Check their references and place of employment. Make sure you are comfortable connecting with this person and that they are who they say they are.
We see mentoring as a ‘free’ guidance relationship that helps those wanting to improve. If a person charges for mentoring, we call it coaching, and suggest those who want to coach ask for a listing in our ‘Find a Coach’ page. Simply put, “mentoring is free; coaching is done for a fee”.
